Awalau Farm Wwoofer Program
Awalau Farm Is an interactive agricultural learning environment designed to teach elemental gardening and alternative farming. We promote peaceful practices in all endeavors from livestock tending to soil amending using ancient techniques combined with modern understandings.
We hold space so students can create a synergistic and holistic relationship with nature and receive the abundance and sustenance of the land.
We host WWOOFers, wandering work-traders, skilled gypsies, and primarily people wanting to learn from the land and be close to nature. Growth opportunities are available in 1-3 month sessions between the months of July and January (arrangements for other months can be made weather allowing) $200 deposit / tuition fee, 15 hrs a week in work-study, ($50 a day tax for missed work) Cabins are for double occupancy, Property is vegetarian (what you do off site is your biz) Put away tools when done, No Guests unless pre-approved, No pets, Conserve Solar Power, there are 2 portalets, Community Kitchen and Shower, Spring Water, Waterfalls, Bamboo Forest, in October we have our Haunted Haiku Hike Festival.
Those interested in WWOOFing with Awalau Farm must have a desire to work with the land, and be comfortable living a very outdoorsy lifestyle. We are interested in hosting people whom are open to being a part of its development and expansion.
Please only respond if you are interested in/comfortable with outside, camping-style living environments. We sit on a fairly rainy ridge on the north side of Maui, so we encourage every WWOOFer to bring a tent and rain gear.
