Farm Learning Opportunities

We offer extended farm immersions and outdoor learning opportunities for people interested in engaging with nature and serving the land. Work with local plants and exotic fruit trees, help support the creatures that dwell here, and create community with others.

Awalau Farm is nestled in the upper hills of Haiku on an isolated property bordering the Ko’olau state forest. It can be rainy or sunny, muddy or dry so best to be well prepared for anything.

We are a Vegetarian Community and Animal Sanctuary and ask that you respect our custom on site. We gather weekly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10-6 to learn from the land and serve the community.

Tasks vary from invasive species eradication, firewood collecting, fence maintenance, planting, pruning, weeding & feeding trees, and other farm related tasks.

Having a notebook is required. Previous farm experience or skills are a big bonus and always appreciated. We primarily accept new students May – July and often close for winter rainy season Nov-April. Check out our facebook page for farm excursions, hikes, visits, tours and for other farm fun.
